Wowzers this is different... cool editor though... yeah, so it's been a while since I updated ... ya think!!??!!?? oy! Kind of like not going to Brunswick for six months and you find that there's new restaurants and everything... I guess I don't get out much! But anywayzz... calamity strikes! MySpace is down due to a power failure... geez don't they use back up power supplies! I bet there'll be reps from APC, TripLite and all the other back up power companies flocking to Tom's door to sell him a new business solution so this kind of thing never EVER happens again! I guess we never realize how addicted we are to these freeeekin' computers not to mention the internet and Tom's little social service called "MySpace" until something like this happens... Meanwhile in Australia... government officials are offering a "state funeral" for one of their national heroes... the "Crocodile Hunter" himself has met with  a seemingly very untimely end at the hand (tail actually) of a giant stingray in the ocean... and landed a poisonous barb right in the heart... ouch! Not a good way to go if you ask me, but at least not as messy as the possibility of ending up in a crocodile's belly! And they said he was a little out of his element in the ocean and apparently it was said at some point that he himself figured if there was something that was going to get him it would be the ocean... so good by Mr Crocodile Hunter and God Bless U and your surviving family members, your legend will live on in our hearts and minds... well some of us anywayzzz... eh mate? So I am off to Cumbys for another nite of thrills, spills and action packed adventure... ya right! Blessings to all and to all a good night!

Entering Traffic...

Entering Traffic...

Ok - I was sitting in traffic yesterday (and this actaully happened to me twice, so it was like I didn't get it the first time, so I had to be shown a second time...) Here's what happened... I was sitting in Wiscasset traffic and just going along at our normal 2 miles per hour pace... and I saw this vehicle poised to get back into the "flow" of traffic, so I motioned and waved at the vehicle to go ahead of me and get in... well, he paid absolutely no attention to my continued waving and beckoning whatsoever, meanwhile traffic is starting to back up behind me and I notice that people are starting to frown at me from the car immediately in back of me... so I say - "Forget you!" (literally) "You're on your own!" - and then he notices that I am waving at him and starts to go forward, but guess what: it is too late, I've already gone a car-length ahead and there is no room to get in... "Tough luck buddy!" I say to myself as I pass him by, "You should have been paying attention!!!" ... I notice this funny feeling in my head that (as in the movie "The Color Purple") "Maybe God is trying to tell you something...!!!  So I go on about my way southbound on Route One at the normal snails pace, stop and get lunch at Irving and just so miraculously get right back into traffice once again... just down the road there is another vehicle poised so as to indicate that they might be wanting to get back into the flow of traffic sometime within the next 24 hours or so, or at least by the end of the week! ... So once again I motion with my arms for him to get in... once again this person also is paying absolutely NO attention to me whatsoever - so I flash my lights a couple of times... he is fiddling with something on his dashboard and paying absolutely no attention to me at ALL! By this time I am starting to get a little frustrated as are the cars in back of me so I hit the horn! No response! He is completely oblivious of the opportunity I have for him to get into the southbound flow of traffic on Route 1 and get on his merry way to his destination... The people in back of me are starting to scowl at me so I say (once again) "Forget you!" and start off again - and what does he do - all of a sudden he realizes what is going on and tries to get in - no way - I have gone ahead too far and he is stranded there at the entry to route one and there's about 20 cars in back of me who are rarin' to go so he's outta luck! I say to my self - "Now if he'd only been paying attention to my kind gesture he would be back in the flow of things and he could get on with life! Then "Bam!" it hit me - no not another motor vehicle (thank God!) but the thought that so many times in life God is the one gracefully, or maybe even not so gracefully, gesturing for me to pay attention and get back into the flow of things... Whoah there, and hey now! It hit me like a hammer! How many times do we (OK - I) get so distracted with some little thing that means absolutely NADA - when God is very patiently waiting for us to join the rest of the traffic pattern and get on with life... Now unlike me - and here's the really important part: God NEVER says "Forget you!" can  you imagine if God did that... I would have been abandoned by God SO long ago it wouldn't even be funny... makes me wonder how many times - no I don't even want to think about it... But anyways - the moral of this story is (twofold) #1 Pay attention in traffic - someone might just be giving you the go-ahead to get back in line and on with your journey (with traffic or life, you choose...) and more importanly #2 Pay attention in LIFE as God may be patiently waiting for you to look up (maybe even literally) and drop whatever mi-nute distraction we are preoccupied with and get back into the swing of life!!!! I have no stones to throw as I am sure I have, and oh, so many times, been that same motorist who was too busy talking to the passenger or fiddling with something on my dashboard (or fiddling with whatever) to catch the fact that God was patiently standing by (perhaps drumming His fingers alittle even...) waiting for me to pay attention... so anywayzzzz... pay attention, you never know when God is trying to wave you on or in to something! Hmmmm.... it could happen! Be careful out there and God Bless U and have a great day! (and for Pete's sake pay attention!)
